Partner
Recognizing that his talents, personality, and heart were geared towards family law and the challenges, emotions, and rewards that this intimate practice can bring,
Darin embraced the practice of family law and joined Heckenbach/Ammarell in 2005. Darin’s practice focuses on all areas of family law, including divorce and post-decree matters, interstate cases involving custody (UCCJEA) and child support (UIFSA), as well as paternity actions, guardianship matters, and adoptions.
Darin is committed to providing thoughtful, compassionate, and sensible representation to his clients facing sensitive and compelling family law issues. Though settlement negotiations, where possible, or trial advocacy, when necessary, Darin strives to meet each client’s unique objectives and to protect each client’s particular needs. Having worked closely with judges as a judicial law clerk, Darin gained a distinctive understanding of the litigation process from the unique perspective of the Court and brings his insights to the representation of his clients.
Darin also handles appeals, particularly in family law cases. Darin assists clients during each step of the appellate process, from evaluating a potential appeal or seeking post-judgment relief to briefing and presenting arguments to the Court.
Additionally, Darin engages in basic estate planning, including preparation of wills, trusts, and other documents that give clients the ability to direct the disposition of assets and to provide other instructions for future decisions.
